Today is the one year anniversary of when we bought a GE dishwasher. We have been very disappointed with the efficiency of its cleaning - model GDF535PGRBB. As we were shopping for a new dishwasher over a year ago, we called Little Appliance in Richmond, Va. It is a small, locally owned store that my parents bought appliances from decades ago and were always very happy with. The representative I spoke to on the phone recommended a GE over Frigidaire, which we had previously owned and planned on buying again. But we followed the sales person™™s recommendation. Yet, we are very sad we did. It did not, and still does not, clean thoroughly. We contacted the store because, in addition to the lack of cleanliness, there was also a terrible smell coming from it. They sent out a tech who fixed a wire that was causing the smell. But he said we were using too much soap, and that™™s why it wasn™™t cleaning correctly. Well, we took his suggestion, as well, and changed our amount of detergent. But the lack of cleanliness was, and is, still a problem. When I called the store back a few months ago to see what options we had since the appliance was not doing its job appropriately, I was told that the warranty was only for defective parts. But in our opinion, the entire dishwasher is defective since it is not cleaning the dishes, which is its job. Everytime we run the appliance, we still have one or two dishes that have not been cleaned properly. We usually rinse each item prior to washing and we do not leave a load of dirty dishes in it overnight; we wash them each evening. We would have appreciated it if there was, or still could be, some sort of rectification.

I am beyond frustrated. I have already communicated with you and detailed the inferior design of the lower rack. While I expected to receive something positive back from GE, after providing detailed description of the terrible design of the rack rails (rollers will not stay on the rail. The design is so bad that it's possible for lower rack inside the unit! To add to all the frustration, the rack itself won't handle heavier dishware well...any glass bowls in the lower rack makes it near impossible to roll the rack out! To date, I provided my frustrations to GE before and the only feedback I have received is that they were forwarding my comments to their design department. I expected more. I'm done with GE!

I doesn™™t hold much, has no extra places to put things, material is flimsy and it™™s noisy. The controls are confusing and weird. I don™™t like anything about this dishwasher

For the price I can't complain, but I wish I had taken the option of top controls as these turn on too easily when even closing the door when your hand is on that side of the door. We reach to close, but not necessarily in the center by the pull grip as designed. Top and bottom rack designs could be a lot better and are in more expensive models. The utensil holder is not tall enough and I'll be replacing that. Still like placing bowls on the top rack in the middle but they have a tendency to roll too easily when placed in the middle section and not held in place with items at the side. It is much quieter than I expected but it replaced a 25+ year dishwasher, so most anything would be quieter. But I have been pleasantly surprised.

This dishwasher was purchased in Dec 2025. It's does the job, that's all I can say. I wish I paid more attention to details when I bought it. The lower rack is so annoying. It comes off the track constantly and it's awkward to get it back in place. The silverware holder is on the wrong side for me. Prongs just don't work well for holding the dishes I have ( normal dishes). Dishes are still wet after the washing cycle.

The dishwasher is ok, nothing to write home about. But the one bad thing is no matter what drying cycle you use, the dishes are ALWAYS wet after the drying cycle is complete. We literally have to wipe some of the dishes dry with a dish towel.

Just installed dishwasher today. From the get go had issues. For whatever reason there was water inside of unit. Everything was wet. Should have came with an adapter for water line. Pain finding one at local big box. After everything was installed it would not start or even light up. Checked for power and to door switch. I made sure door was latched and engaged the door switch manually with no success. Very disappointed. Manual not helpful. Wasted so much time trouble shooting and installing this product to not even work. Hopefully, I can get a replacement at no extra cost. Price for washer was mid level. Should work no issues day one.

A Few Things Fall Short of Perfect

A couple gripes: dishes are always wet (regardless of cycle setting), even with the normal or high dry boost engaged. And yes, we are using the factory recommended dry aid agent. Extremely annoying is the childlike fight we are always having with the rack rollers. The top rack never stay aligned, one side always gets janky and you™™ve got to shake it, push it, pull it, just to get it in or out. The bottom rack is equally irritating, the rollers NEVER stay on the edge guides of the inner body or the open door ™" always slipping to the left or the right and, like the top shelf, requires all kinds of extra effort to get it in position. Wet dishes and wonky rollers ™¦ had I known this I would have bought a different model, because I doubt these issues can be fixed (all the responses from GE in other comments about these same issues don™™t appear to address a remedy for the customer having the issue™¦it™™s always something like ™we™™ll let our design team know about this so it™™s fixed when the new model is redesigned and future customers don™™t get boned like you did.™) would be nice if a warranty nowadays actually addressed customer satisfaction and expectations. additionally, regular wash cycle takes an awfully long time considering the product is new and (you would think) would be faster to save on energy.

This is a wonderful dishwasher! I like that the tub is deep so you can put larger items on the bottom rack. Plus, the upper rack is lower than my old GE dishwasher, and I can fit taller cups in the top without issue. I use the normal wash setting without the dry feature, and my dishes are mostly dry, except the ones with areas to hold water on their tops. The dishwasher is very quiet, and the filter is very easy to reach, pull out, and clean. All in all, a great appliance for me!

There were no tub trim pieces on my model so the washer looks incomplete when installed. There was no owners manual with dishwasher, one must search online for it. The controls are simple enough to use. I have ran a few cycles, it works fine.

The dishwasher works great and is not too loud. The only complaint I have is related to the silverware holder. It does not have individual slots to place spoons, forks and knives. The 4 areas are open which does not allow for separation of these smaller items.
