The porcelain broiler bracket broke off yesterday, making the microwave unusable. Is there a recall on this? It should not have broken in under 3 years. Then, to replace this part, the entire built-in unit must be removed, and then the bracket can be replaced. The bracket itself can be bought for $40.

This is truly the worst oven/microwave combination. Very poor quality microwave. The door latch is defective after 4 years and either (or both) the magnatron and inverter have failed. Repairs cost over $1000. You are married to the unit because it is all in one. A new stand alone microwave is $150 at most. Kitchen Aid is supposed to be a good brand but clearly is not. All whirlpool parts anyway. This combination oven/microwave is over $6000 (including taxes) and is a waste of money. Stay away

I™™m very disappointed in my KitchenAid oven/microwave appliance. I™™ve had this install for just over two years and I™™m now on my third service issue, which unfortunately now is outside the warranty timeframe and will cost me over $700 to repair. All issues have been with the upper microwave unit. For the price tag you would think it would last longer than the $30 microwave I have from Walmart. Save your money and purchase another brand!

This came brand new in my house which means I'm still paying for this $4000 oven/microwave in my mortgage. The microwave quit working 6 weeks after we hit our 1 year warranty. Whirlpool/KitchenAid refused to help but offered us a warranty package on it for ONLY $80 a month. Who would pay $1k a year just in case it breaks? We used KitchenAid to schedule a service technician to come out for repair. $668 repair! I thought KitchenAid was supposed to be the best that's why we pay a premium price. They won't fool me twice!

We had to quickly purchase a replacement for our almost 17-year-old GE Profile oven/microwave combo. We saw a floor model at Gerhard™™s, but since we have future remodeling plans, we were hesitant to go with KitchenAid™"we had been considering higher-end appliances down the road. With time constraints and a lot of back-and-forth on our plans, we decided to give KitchenAid a try, fully expecting it might be a temporary solution that we™™d replace later if it didn™™t hold up long-term. We are so happy we bought it. The speed oven/microwave has become my absolute favorite feature. The temperature-sensing reheat function is amazing™"it reheats food straight from the refrigerator to restaurant-quality results. What truly amazes me is that the food temperature is always just right. No cold centers, no overheated edges. The oven itself is super convenient and performs exactly as expected. It also has a beautiful built-in look. At this point, I™™m honestly not sure we™™ll even replace it with a higher-priced option during our kitchen remodel™"we love both the performance and the appearance that much. BTW, it is super quiet

Major Design Flaw

This product has a Major Design Flaw: the interior microwave light burns out and there is no way for the user to replace it! This is a common complaint. After about 2 years of less-than-average use, the light is out and I would have to hire a very strong worker to completely remove the whole combination oven (which is extremely heavy, and which would damage my custom cabinets that it is inserted into), have him replace the light (which is also very difficult to do and involves further disassembling of the microwave!) and then pay him to reinstall the ovens!! Kitchen-aid should have known better than to leave customers with such a faulty product after spending over $4,000!!! Do not buy this product. I will not buy any further Kitchen-aid products based on this experience - unless they will fix my product at no cost to me and make sure that they do not damage my cabinets in the process!!!! ((I'm not holding my breathe, that is for sure))

Our entire kitchen is comprised of KitchenAid appliances. They are expensive, but used to be worth the cost. We had our prior KitchenAid oven/microwave combo for 24 years. The only reason we replaced it is b/c the microwave broke. We spent a lot of money on the KitchenAid replacement but figured it was worth it b/c it would last. Wrong. 18 months in and we had to spend over $750 to get the microwave fixed. The authorized repair tech told me the whole oven unit would only last 3-5 years and that nowadays you have to buy the protection plan to guard against inevitable repair issues. Major appliances are not supposed to be ™disposable.™

Major Design Flaw!

This product has a major design flaw. The light in the microwave stopped working after 2.4 years with less than average use! The only way to replace it is to hire a very strong repairman to completely pull out the very heavy WHOLE MICROWAVE-RANGE COMBINATION from the custom cabinets that it sits in (which of course will damage my cabinets). THEN the light has to be replaced (which is NOT straightforward) and THEN the whole huge combination appliance has to be put back in the custom cabinets. So basically, I would have to pay to uninstall and then reinstall the whole appliance every 2.4 years. This is ridiculous. KitchenAid should cover this for all the unfortunate people like me who bought this. This is a Frequent Complaint!!! I would suggest buying from a different company that manufacturers products in which customers can easily replace bulbs themselves in 2 minutes.

The oven doesn™™t heat evenly. It needs to preheat for a very long time. I can no longer make lasagna or pies ( these are a couple of examples). Lasagna comes out like soup the cheese doesn™™t even melt. The fruit in pies doesn™™t cook. I have been cooking for over fifty years and have never had problems like this. I was so excited to get the oven and am so disappointed.

Bought this in February of 2024 and there are droplets / streaks in the microwave window. They are inside the window and are unable to be cleaned. Called Kitchen Aid to have them fix the problem and they said it's cosmetic and not a functional problem. Looks horrible and was really disappointed with the customer service. Even bought the extended service plan in the begining but to no help. Had I known I'd never bought the product. It cooks OK but looks horrible.

Like many others, my unit stopped working and I have the inverter error (F1E5). I've only had the unit for 3 years and Kitchenaid doesn't offer any warranty past 1 year on the unit. This is a $4k Microwave/Oven combo and it barely lasted 3 years without major repair. Not only that, but it didn't work great in the first place. The Microwave would take out our WiFi when running, could barely pop a bag of popcorn and the light is so dim you can't see the food you're cooking. Very disappointed and will not purchase KitchenAid again.

Quality of product not as I expected. ie: hazy glass door after first used. Appears condensation gets inside the window. Maybe loose seals? I do like the convection oven. Wish I could have found videos in the beginning that were a little more detailed on how to use the different features. Have yet to use the microwave for crisping or convection. I should have contacted customer service a long time ago. Purchased these during Covid and waited a long time to get them. Then I had some major health issues and just never got around to it. This came in the house I bought, which is 2 years old. The oven is 50 degrees too low when verified with an oven thermometer. We can turn it off, then let it start to cool, then preheat again and the temperature raises. The microwave unit is not heating at 900W either. We have a countertop microwave also, and the KitchenAid barely heats food. It requires about 5 minutes to reheat a single serving of leftover spaghetti. The rest of the KitchenAid appliances in the house are great - the built-in 48™ refrigerator, the dual fuel 36™ professional range, and the pro style range hood. It™™s a shame that there is not a professional wall oven.

We purchased the KOCE500ESS combination microwave/oven when building our home in December 2020. The design is beautiful, and we especially liked the appliance handles. Given the cost and KitchenAid™™s reputation, we expected premium quality and long-term reliability. However, just three years in, our microwave suddenly stopped working, displaying an F1E5 error code and a "MW INVERTER NOT RESP" message. It even exploded while my son was heating milk™"despite our relatively infrequent use of the microwave. Since the manufacturer™™s warranty only lasts one year, we had to pay $150 just for a technician to confirm the error code without any disassembly. The repair estimate was another $500 for parts (inverter and magnetron) and labor, bringing the total to $650. By contrast, the microwave in our previous home™"made by a different company™"worked flawlessly for years. It™™s frustrating to see a high-end appliance fail just 38 months after installation. When it worked, the microwave performed well enough, but a $650 repair on a three-year-old unit is excessive. While some maintenance is expected, a failure of this magnitude so soon is unacceptable. In hindsight, I wish I had chosen a different brand. I expected a premium appliance to last at least 5™7 years with minimal issues. Unfortunately, this experience suggests KitchenAid's quality isn™™t what it claims to be™"especially considering the short one-year warranty, which barely covers anything beyond cosmetic and electrical components. Reviews across multiple sites indicate that inverter failures are a common issue, not an isolated case. While this appliance may look nice, it's an expensive disappointment™"both to purchase and maintain.
