The ice maker is very loud & I don't quite understand why an ice maker would be placed in the left side of the refrigerator rather than in the bottom freezer. The button on the side of the ice maker to open the door, is so difficult to push that I can't imagine an elderly person with hand difficulties could ever open it.I had to practice getting it open so that in case of a power outage I would need to remove any ice cubes so that they don't defrost & leak all over the inside of my refrigerator. 1st time ever that I had to exercise my thumb & fingers to open an ice maker !!! I can't imagine whoever thought this was a good place for an ice maker. The small piece between both refrigerator doors to cover the separation between the door always has moisture droplets on it. Other than that I love the outside drawer as I rarely have to open the regular refrigerator compartment as I can store low packages & containers in that drawer. The vegetable containers & entire refrigerator compartment keeps things very cold however due to the ice maker you lose quite a bit of space for tall items on the left side.I am the only one in the household so freezer size is adequate for me. There is however no container that comes with it for ice cube storage and lastly on the inside left door there is a shelf that is so narrow you can barely put anything in it because its right above where that ice dispenser is. I have read you Terms of Use and don't believe I have written anything that would cause my review to be rejected.

Whirlpool has spoiled me with really great performances all my past Whirlpool/Gold appliances have had. We wanted this time the middle drawer outside access wanted to get the bigger 29.8 unit they where not available til July (I was replacing our 18 year old white 27 cu. ft. French door unit that died) had to settle for this one here all is well until the ice maker took off makes great ice as normal however after ice dumps and tray refills there is some kind of a grinding noise that sounds like a garbage disposal full silverware this happens every time after it refills the tray until this is fixed they only get a 2

I'm a big fan of Whirlpool appliances. My previous refrigerator was a Whirlpool side-by-side that was manufactured in 1994, and was still running when I finally decided to upgrade to a new model. I still did a lot of research to find a great deal, but more importantly, to get a refrigerator that I trusted would perform well and offered the features I wanted. No surprise... my research took me right back to Whirlpool. I love this French door model. It's just the right size: large enough for a family, but not so huge that a single person would find it to be too much. The freezer holds a lot and I love the big compartment storage that I really missed with our side-by-side. I wasn't sure how useful the refrigerator deli drawer would be for me, but wow, I love having it. Great place to chill all those frequently reached for snack items like sodas, yogurt cups, etc. I'm impressed with how long my produce is lasting in the fridge drawers... that's cost-saving for me since I sometimes forget about produce that I purchased. Great to discover that it's still in good condition when i ultimately want to cook with it. The filtered water tastes absolutely lovely, so I will definitely replace the filter with a Whirlpool brand filter when the time comes. All in all, a wonderful refrigerator!

My beautiful new Whirlpool refrigerator was delivered to me on Mar 18, 2026. I loved everything about it; the cafe doors, the 2 big crispers, the deli drawer and the freezer on the bottom. Everything was great for 2 days or so, then it began making a loud buzzing or alarm sound, intermittently. A repair man said it was the water refilling the ice maker. Then food in the freezer started getting a coat of frost on it, especially the food in the pullout rack in the freezer. Then today, I opened the left hand door, with the ice dispenser in it, and water spilled out from the tray of the dispenser. Tomorrow I will call Home Depot, again, to have a repair man come out once again. I am very disappointed. Carol Aldridge

They removed the old refrigerator and installed the new one without any issues. After letting the new refrigerator cool down over night we loaded it with food and it has been great every since. This new refrigerator is great with one exception. The big shelf right above the two drawers has no back on it, and a 3" open slot at the back. If you push a small bottle towards the back of that shelf, if falls in that open slot. You have to take the drawer out of the refrigerator, and reach way back to recover the bottle. This is a bad design problem. Could your technical department tell me how to fix this problem?

My son bought me this refrigerator for Christmas. I can™€™t really beg him to buy the insurance, but I sure surely wish she had. From the beginning the doors did not shut right and it does have a beeper light that goes off if the door is left open and that doesn™€™t work either all right we did bring someone in and they said there was nothing that could be done. That was a way it was made. I just have to push a little harder which I try to do, but you know sometimes it™€™s left open. Fortunately, the air doesn™€™t escape very quickly however a year in a month after I bought it the rubber that seals on the right side is completed completely rotted off. I tried to get my son to call I should™€™ve called you know he his reaction was we got someone in and they said there was nothing that they could do but this was a different issue so that™€™s two issues. The rotting of the seal really bothers me.

The refrigerator is a little small. the shelves in the doors are too large making me feel that I am going to get my face when I open them. The motor sounds like I am running the washing machine and the ice maker when it loads water sounds like a buzzer. The freezer rack does not come out with the freezer door making me always have to grab it.

We had our previous Whirlpool refrigerator for ov we 25 years. The new fridge seems like it has more space ! There are a couple suggestions that I think would make this a ™€œ5™€ review. In the top compartment on the right side, you have to open both doors to access the drawer (fruits and vegetables drawer). The water dispenser is the other concern. It seems you have to press rather hard to get the water flow to start. I am concerned that this part might break prematurely.

When the delivery crew left i had a difficult time removing the ice maker bin. I called Whirlpool customer service and within 3 days i had a new ice bin! This isn't my first Whirlpool appliance. So far, I am happy with the refrigerator. The only minor complaint is that the water dispenser isn't big enough to handle my cup in the tray (I use a very large cup). I do like the fact that it gives you ounces as you dispense the water, which is helpful when cooking. I just hope it lasts for at least 10 years.

The water dispenser leaks, and instead of repairig it, they (Home Depot) are replaceing it. Unfortunately, it is backordered and they can't exchange it until 6 November. This is less than stellar performance from a brand new unit!

Bad news

This product was not working properly. It took 48 hours to get to the correct temperature in the refrigerator. It also consistently made 2 loud noises. When I called Whirlpool for support, I was on the phone for 60 minutes waiting to talk with a representative. When I did speak with a live person, she would not help me. She said if she sent a repaIrman and it wasn™€™t a repair issue I would need to pay for the service call. She told me to take out the filter and check to see if it was clogged. I told her I was not a repairman and would not know how to determine if the filter was clogged or not. Because your company would not stand behind a brand new product orprovide service, I have returned the refrigerator to the seller and cancelled my other order for a Whirlpool disgwasher and a Whirlpool microwave oven. I am extremely frustrated with your company, and will tell my friends and family about your company™€™s inability to stand behind your product.

The manual needs some work.

Still trying to get use to the extra drawer and the noise of the ice maker. The book doesn't explain very much. I can't even find out what water filter it uses. I know how to set the temperatures but how do you tell what temperature that it is at? This review is more on the Manual , The refrigerator is doing its job ,but the manual doesn't.

The unit runs a long time, before it shuts off. When the ice maker dumps the ice and refills with water it makes a loud grinding noise.

Ice build up in freezer

I™€™m unhappy with the refrigerator. After only 3 days the freezer light switch was frozen which meant the light would not light. Also the ledge in front of the freezer gasket on the top of the freezer door gets ice build up on it and frost builds up on the light in the freezer.

Not happy. The freezer light keeps icing up. The toggle switch freezes causing the light to stay off. The upper edge on the freezer door gets ice mostly on the center of the door. A person doesn™€™t expect that on the second day of ownership. Very disappointing.
