Difficult to cook on this stovetop

this stove is great when it works
but the touch panel controls do not work when wet or when your fingers are wet. any amount of moisture makes it extremely frustrating to adjust temperature on the touch dials. also the burners are extremely sensitive to the pan size and location. the two small burners on the right are almost useless with any pans 5-7 inch which. sometimes they work for a few minutes and then the burner just shuts off.
the good part is if your pot boils over it seems to sense it and react and either drop power or completely shut off the burner. the bad news is it stops your cooking also. i dont recommend this induction top. there are gar better on the market even if you have to pay more. the light's are cute but they dont cook your food.

this is being by far the best cooktop that we ever had. looks really good with the new renovated kitchen. we had a 30" cooktop before and i'm glad that we went to the 36" one, it makes a big difference with the surface that you have for cooking.
we have it since almost a month now and we didn't have any problems at all. the cooking speed is way faster than in any traditional cooktop including gas. we also love the power booster; it is so fast.
i read other reviews where people had issues with the controls, this is not our experience. the controls work perfectly fine, no issues at all. actually, we don't even use the knob.
overall, very satisfied with the purchase. at least for now. i will update the review if things change in the future.

out of box knobs, screws and foam tape were missing. samsung refused to replace them because it was past 30 days from delivery. but first they told me 5-10 business days. then once i hung up they rejected the request and didnt tell me, i had to remember they hadnt arrived and wait 40 minutes on hold for them to tell me they wouldnt be shipping.
when i asked them how to order the missing parts, they couldnt even give me the part numbers to order, they just told me to call some third party j&j international and ask them.
love the service after dropping $7k on samsing appliances for my new kitchen.

Really like the clean lines on this cooktop and the great performance. Amazed how fast everything heats up and really pleased with larger pots and grill on the stove. No cold spots. Makes cooking a lot of fun.

we have had problems with this induction cook top since we purchased it in 2018. it has randomly stopped working so we would reset the unit by shutting off the power. it has gotten progressively worse and now will not function at all. randomly turns on and off now and does not heat. unit just freezes up when you try to heat a pan. we have called samsung over one month ago and they put us in touch with ron's appliances. we have made at least 4 calls and texts regarding a scheduled repair and have not received word on a site visit. in a conversation with the repair company after sending them the model number via text, they said they would be in contact with samsung. we have not heard anything back.

this cooktop is beautiful when it is off and on. love the blue light feature and removeable knob. it also works very well - so happy with induction. haven't gotten to try the side bridge for griddle, but the functionality of other areas is great.

CANNOT put this range above a wall oven

contrary to what is specified here, you cannot put this above a wall oven, unless you have a 2"+ thick countertop. most countertops are 2cm to 3cm, therefore this is fairly misleading. samsung "experts" we no help in trying to navigate the installation and will have to return them.

i have had our cooktop for about 2-3 years and i love it! i cook quite often and entertain at least once or twice a month and most gatherings are centered around food & family. i love the power boost option to get water boiling quickly for pasta, etc. and the variety of burner sizes and settings are great.

This is my first induction cooktop, I was worried about how it will perform. I must say, it exceeded my expectation. it heats up fast and it stays cool and it is easy to clean. I didn't have to buy more pan, most of pans work with it. I installed it myself, it was easy. No problems so far. Few things on the con side, kind of hard to adjust the temp scale.

just bought this stove a couple of months ago after using an electric coil for years and i am in love! bacon that cooks evenly from end to end without curling! boiled eggs that peel with little effort (no sticking). so easy to clean!

i would love everything about this cooktop, if it worked. the touch sensor rarely responds even after dozens of attempts. since day one this has been a problem. it is difficult to turn on or adjust the temp with your finger. the provided knob just doesn't work at all.
as a software engineer, i figured this had to be a simple firmware update, which i tried with smartthings (already in use). it fails every time you try. upgraded smartthings; failed again. no help from samsung. they 'don't know why it won't work'.
my wife finally made me tear it out and put in a ge. looks terrible but works every time.
sigh....

i was diaappoited when i learned that i couldnt get a gas cooktop but this amazing induction cooktop did not disappoint. it has a power surge option and water boils literally in seconds! the heat reduction or increase is immediate when cooking which is awesome. i did have to move the knob because i have toddlers that would be able to reach up and since it isnt attached it would be lost. however, using your finger to adjust is not an issue.

can't control power. jumps from 5 to 14 or whatever it feels like. thought i could control power on my phone - set power directly - can't do that either. worst induction i've had from samsung.

I bought this unit from best buy to replace a working GE gas cooktop, very excited with look and cool smartthing. I clean it every night to make it like new. My wife cooked most of the time, and kept complaining the right front burner did not work normally, it did not turn on, and making click sound. We bough new cookware, and the same thing happens. Strange thing is same pan works fine at other burner, and other brand induction cooktop. Samsung engineer told us to buy new cookware. All top brand cookware at Costco, Walmart, …, we bought have the same problem with just one burner. The engineer told us to use the one the match the circle, completely bottom flat (i.e without brand embossed on the bottom). I looked everywhere for this but all cookware have then brand at the bottom. I don't know if we are confused or Samsung engineer, we spent 2200 for cooktop, 1000 for wiring 220v to our kitchen, installation fee, and we have to use only 1 size of pan that match the circle, and "non-brand" cookware. This does not happen with other brand

We were super excited to get this induction cook top for our new home we built. It unfortunately started malfunctioning shortly after use. Heaven for bid a drop of water gets on the cook top and it shuts down and you can't turn it back on until the top is completely dry. Our one burner has already stopped working, and we have literally only used it maybe 30 times or so if that. We just moved into our new home at the beginning of October. We did buy the extended warranty, so hopefully when they come out to look at it, it'll solve the problems.

I've had this cook top for just over a year; zero problems. It can boil water in under a minute, is easy to clean and is basically flawless. For me, it meets or exceeds all other cook top duties but is incredibly easy to clean. I'm no neat freak but my stove top is now nearly spotless at all times. You can even cook with a rag on stove top between pot so grease splatters are caught before they hit the surface.
Cons: It draws quite a few amps, so you may need to run a new electric line for it. The controls to adjust temp is a bit touchy so sometimes it takes a couple touches to get it to the exact temp setting you want.
Don't buy it for the wifi capabilities because in this (my) iteration it is only for monitoring stove top temp settings; no adjusting temps.

I replaced a regular electric glasstop stove with this unit. I wanted something faster than electric. I wanted gas, but didn't want to re-pipe my house. Did a lot of research and am overall happy with my purchase. Power--boost is insanely fast at heating up water when you need it.
The touch controls take some getting used to. We almost exclusively use our fingers vs. the magnetic knob, which is just too slow.
The noise isn't really an issue. Sort of bugged me at first, but if you turn on your range hood on low, you can't even hear it.
My biggest complaint is how picky it is with water on the surface. The manual says if water "spills" on the surface, it shuts everything off. I presume that's to prevent your food from boiling over. But, even if you pick a lid up off a pot, and the condensation falls on the cooktop...presto...everything shuts off. It's very annoying, particularly when it's been five minutes and you didn't notice it and now everything has stopped cooking.
Ditto if you take a metal sheet pan out of the over and put it on the cooktop (cuz...it's right there). The metal will usually do something to the touch-controls and either you turn something on or off that you didn't intend to.
Seems like there's some middle ground between, "This just happens when you're cooking, so don't turn everything off" and "this heats up stuff really fast so we got you..."
Still happy with the purchase overall.
